Medicare Advantage Plans
"Medicare Advantage Plans are a type of Medicare health plan offered by a private company that contracts with Medicare to provide all your Part A and Part B benefits. Most Medicare Advantage Plans also offer prescription drug coverage. If you’re enrolled in a Medicare Advantage Plan, most Medicare services are covered through the plan. Your Medicare services aren’t paid for by Original Medicare."

The above was copied directly from the Medicare Website. Please note this states Medicare Advantage Plans are offered by a private company and that most Medicare services are covered- but it does not state how they are covered.
Unfortunately, Medicare Advantage plans have proved to be a challenge, both to members and to Spine & Sport Institute, regarding benefits and claims. The card looks very similar to the actual Medicare card and it seems many patients believe it is Medicare, and they present their Medicare card instead of their Medicare Advantage card. This results in billing issues which we are trying to avoid. If you have a Medicare Advantage plan:
- Do not give us your Medicare card.
- Please follow our guidelines for Commercial Insurance.
