Heal at Home
While we have enhanced our already stringent cleaning policies and, not only follow, but go beyond CDC recommendations, we understand you still may not be comfortable coming to our clinic. Well, the good news is you do not need to! We have you covered both in the clinic and via our simple, secure and HIPAA compliant online evaluations. You do not need to compromise or put your health on hold.
If you are reading this you may be dealing with a painful condition or a decrease in your physical function for which you would have previously just sought out Physical Therapy, but presently may have reservations. More Information
Even when things go back to “normal”, I expect our virtual visits to remain very popular. The added convenience of not having to drive to the clinic and sit in a waiting room is not only much appreciated, but in cases where sitting is an aggravating factor can enhance the speed of recovery. Presently with COVID many insurances are paying for Virtual Visits (Telehealth) with the same benefits and criteria as the onsite visits. Additionally, for some reason we seem to be able to stay more “on time” with the Virtual Visits”…. and I know that is appreciated.
I would like to add one personal note. Ever since becoming a McKenzie practitioner in 1985, it felt quite normal and productive to call and check on my patients in between visits. Now this was long before I owned my clinic and I did surprise many a patient when I called on Sunday afternoon, but so many times they had not fully understood an important component and were not doing as well as expected; During our call they were able to correct the issue and resolve the pain as we spoke, when the information was clarified. This was so beneficial it became very common for me to call people, especially in the early stages of treatment. I just came across some notes I made in 2011 when I was thinking I would be retiring soon (but not stop doing therapy completely). On the paper I wrote, “treat patients on the phone.” So yes, this was before ZOOM and Telehealth and long before COVID, but the McKenzie Method is so conducive to either a telephone call or an online visit, both in benefits and efficacy of results, I would encourage you to consider a Virtual Visit. Even if, like me, you are not very computer savvy, at the very least, fill out the appropriate questionnaire to receive your complimentary review to help determine your best first step. Or, just give Laurie a call to learn how we can best assist you.
